Hans Wegner

After serving a Carpentry apprenticeship, Wegner studied at the Copenhagen Institute of Technology from, 1936 to 1938, and later at the city"s School of Arts and Crafts.  From 1940 he worked with Erik Moller and Arne Jacobsen, establishing his own studio in 1946.  He is best known for his solid wood chairs, which were manufactured by companies such as Fritz Hansen.
